Well, here we are at day 16 of my holidays, and we’ve returned from our week in southwest Busselton.
We did lots of reading, drawing, visits to the beach (a two minute walk), lots of eating and drinking and played many a game of Backgammon.
For food, we ate out at least once a day, normally dinner. Nearly everywhere we went had excellent food and service, our usual haunt Vasse Bar and Cafe (Queen St, Busselton, (08) 9752 1455) never fails to impress, and our latest favourite Albies (Queen St, Busselton (08) 9752 1166), which from the outside looks like a dodgy suburban pub, but on the inside it’s very modern with a great menu and good service.
Newcomer cafe, Samovar (Queen St, Busselton) was visited by Meredith, who reports that although the coffee was great, the service wasn’t up to scratch.
Weirdest experience was trying to get an iced coffee on a 35 degree day at the Goose Cafe Beach Kiosk, to be told they ‘don’t do iced coffee‘, although they have a shiny new coffee machine and every style of coffee available.
Other places we dined at include:
Busselton Pizza, Shop 6, 59 Queen St, Busselton (08) 9754 2066
Ching’s Dynasty Chinese Restaurant, Queen St, Busselton (08) 9752 2668
McDonalds Busselton (gotta love wifi!) 18 Albert St, Busselton (08) 9754 4100
Olde Chapel Cafe, Boulevard Shopping Centre, Busselton (08) 9752 4155
Esplanade Hotel, Marine Tce, Busselton (08) 9752 1078
It’s only been three months since we were last in Busselton, but every time we go there, we still discover new places and things to see. Only a 3 hour drive from Perth, Busselton is definitely somewhere worth visiting.
Back to work tomorrow! If anyone needs a website built in Busselton, let me know – it’s a good excuse to visit again.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it Miles!
Not thinking of starting dine.com.au are you? Would go perfectly with brew.com.au 😛

Only ate there once, & like you said looks ‘dodgy’ on the outside, but boy what a vibrant joint on the inside with great food & the best salad/fruit bar I have ever come across. Suggest book a table evenings!
Moving to Capel from Vic. just to enjoy more of Albies & what “Bussy” has to offer.
